With the massive numbers of applications coming in every semester, i would imagine not ALL info on the application will be thoroughly checked. Some of the easy 'overlooked' items will be your extracurricular activities.

According to the recent news report, the University California checks about 1% of applicants to verify their claims of achievements / awards and other details filed in their applications.
