A Primary Care Physician (PCP) is more like the day to day doctor you go see when you get a flu or cold or other minor diagnosis. An attending physician is like when you go into the hospital or when you are having something major done (ie. surgery), the main go to doctor that is in charge of your overall medical chart and well being.
