  • This training on fracture care coding will review the CPT coding rules and ICD-9-CM guidelines for fracture care to ensure that the provider receives the appropriate reimbursement. It will also discuss the anatomy of common bones in the body to help you in choosing proper codes.

    Why Should You Attend :
There are various ways in which to treat fractures as well as the complications that occur when fractures don’t heal right. Also, because the fracture treatment codes are listed in CPT? by body area, it is important to understand the anatomy for proper code choice. This includes taking into consideration where the services and/or procedure are performed, which will also affect the reimbursement. There are several other circumstances in which additional CPT? codes can be reported with fracture treatment codes, when performed, for additional reimbursement due to the complexity. This includes external fixation and debridements of open fractures so that providers are compensated for all services performed.
This webinar will help with understanding how these treatments are coded from a CPT procedure code perspective as well as a diagnosis perspective as it to pertains to traumatic and non-traumatic fractures. This course will review how to determine the global period for fracture treatment, as well as understanding the difference between traumatic and non-traumatic fractures. There are also diagnoses codes that can paint the picture of the details of the injury when a traumatic fracture occurs, which create punctual, accurate reimbursement.
