If you get a distance MBA from else where, does it count as a legit MBA degree everywhere?

As long as the school that you are applying to is nationally accreditated school, then the degree is accepted everywhere.

You have to seriously read into the schools' accreditation affilation. Don't just rely on the school's website, check it out in several different places. Some say they are accreditated, but only in one state or a few neighboring states, which will not be a good idea for you if you like to move around.

The degree is probably good, but when you get your transcript or diploma, it actually says 'online' on the cert which in a way discounted the degree due to the fact that it's an 'online' program. Employers might considered that.
