• Summary

  The Kommagani Laboratory in the Department of Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking motivated candidates for a Postdoctoral Associate position as part of T32 program. This opportunity involves joining a multi-disciplinary research team focused on the microbiome and its role in gynecological pathologies. The research will leverage advanced methods, including mouse models and clinical samples, to investigate the role of the gut microbiome in disease processes. Building on these established models and findings, the successful candidate will advance the clinical relevance of microbiota in gynecological diseases.

  Job Duties

  • Conducts microbiome-focused research using preclinical mouse models and human clinical samples.
  • Utilizes cutting-edge molecular, microbiological, and analytical techniques to investigate host-microbiome interactions.
  • Contributes to ongoing projects and develop independent research initiatives that align with the laboratory’s goals.
  • Collaborates effectively within a multidisciplinary team to publish high-impact findings.
  • Works with other groups as part of collaborations.

  Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, or a related field.
  • Expertise in microbiome research, gynecological diseases, or host-microbiome interactions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in handling animal models and/or clinical samples is an asset.
  • Strong track record of research productivity, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
