  • Job Title:
  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow - D'Andrea Lab
  • Employer:
  • Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
  • Location:
  • Boston, MA
  • Posting Date:
  • 10-Nov-2025
  • Apply
  • Description:
  • The D'Andrea lab is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to investigate chromosome instability and susceptibility to cancer. Our laboratory examines the molecular signaling pathways which regulate the DNA damage response in mammalian cells. Disruption of these pathways, by germline or somatic mutation, leads to genomic instability, cellular sensitivity to ionizing radiation, and defective cell cycle checkpoints and DNA repair. These pathways are often disrupted in cancer cells, accounting for the chromosome instability and increased mutation frequency in human tumors. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research FellowÂto join a dynamic team investigating theÂmolecular basis of genomic stability and DNA repair mechanismsÂin human cancers. The candidate will work in a cutting-edge research environment with access to advanced molecular biology tools and technologies.

Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We are united in our mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. We strive to create an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment where we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all backgrounds, and design programs to promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.

    • Design and conduct experiments related to DNA repair pathways, replication fork stability, and ubiquitin signaling.
    • Use advanced techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, protein biochemistry, mass spectrometry, and live-cell imaging.
    • Analyze data, interpret results, and present findings at internal and external scientific meetings.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medicinal chemists and clinical researchers.
    • Contribute to manuscript writing and grant applications.
    • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall research environment.
    • PhD or MD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field.
    • Strong background in DNA repair, cancer biology, or chromatin biology is preferred.
    • Experience with mammalian cell culture, protein purification, and molecular cloning.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
