    The Director of the Human Gift Registry (HGR) Program will be responsible for all aspects of HGR operation and report directly to the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences. These duties will include supervising the Laboratory Instructor Assistant, ensuring that the program complies with the Rules on Regulations of the West Virginia Anatomical Board, working with donors and/or families of doonors in all HGR matters, completes all records in a timely fashion, tracks all donors through the system, oversees the organization and execution of the Human Gift Registry Memorial Service (including making decisions concerning participant, program and expenses), handles all issues related to the receipt, preparation, storage and transport of cadavers, ensures that all procedures and facilities are in compliance with standard safety regulations, makes decisions regarding routine expenditures for HGR supplies and equipment and consults with the Department Chair concerning larger expenses and equipment purchases. The Director will also negotiate, manage and enforce contracts and business operations with external entities and interact with medical and professional students for event planning and HGR education and use.

    Required Qualifications
    Candidates should have excellent organizational skills, a strong background in the funeral experience industry, a degree in an associated field with five or more years work experience dealing with grief and grieving, an understanding of body preservation techniques and issues, and knowledge of the West Virginia Anatomical Board governance, policies and procedures. Experience with management of a Human Gift Registry Program and associated electronic record system is desirable.
