    Position Summary:
    The Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks a Research Engineer. The successful candidate will:

    - Design mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems of small autonomous underwater vehicles
    - Oversee fabrication of all mechanical components
    - Participate in systems integration of all subsystems of small autonomous underwater vehicles
    - Assist in the development and execution of a supporting experimental test program
    - Interact daily with a diverse team that includes members from industry, academia, and government

    Required Qualifications:
    -The research engineer position requires a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
    -Must have experience with design and fabrication of mechanical components for small autonomous underwater vehicles, including experience with computer-aided design packages and with preparation of design documentation and shop drawings.
    -Experience with underwater vehicles is required.
    -Since the project is highly inter-disciplinary, the ideal candidate will have a subset of the following additional qualifications and experiences: experience with embedded control systems including hardware and software, advanced control system design and development, development of 6 DOF models for aero and/or marine vehicle platforms, experience with wind-tunnel or tow-basin testing, as well as design and testing of marine propulsors.
    -The successful candidate must have outstanding oral and written communication skills and a willingness to interact with a diverse team of engineers on a daily basis.
