  • Primary Purpose

    This administrative staff member is charged with implementing a comprehensive program of assessment for the purpose of programmatic improvements in accordance with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accreditation requirements for the College of Pharmacy. The Director will work with the assessment committee, faculty, staff, and administration to implement and review effective strategies for the assessment of student learning at the individual and program levels as well as assessment of college level mission and goals. This position provides ongoing support for assessment activities, assists with the analysis of assessment methods and results, and reports such results to both internal and external stakeholders.

    In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this position is responsible for directing the following activities:
    • Assessment data collection;
    • Improving assessment processes, activities, and/or measurement instruments;
    • Report, revise and update assessment procedures for students and faculty members; and
    • Facilitate the professional education of student pharmacists through coordination and instruction of the Professional Development I, II, and III, courses; and
    • Support the University Assessment Committee with university-and-College-level assessment processes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assessment & Accreditation Responsibilities: (75%)
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the Office of Assessment in developing, implementing, collecting, monitoring, and enforcing essential processes and procedures.
    • Oversee the Assessment and Accreditation Management System provided by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy to compile data, revise reports, and monitor compliance with reporting requirements from ACPE.
    • Provide expert knowledge and assistance in the coordination and interpretation of ACPE accreditation standards.
    • Prepare College annual assessment report and present to faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
    • Develop reports for faculty, staff, and students related to annual student progression measures and reports to College committees.
    • Direct campus visits for assessment and accreditation.

    Instructional Responsibilities: (15%)
    • Coordinate and instruct professional student pharmacists in the Professional Development I, II, and III, courses.
    • Participate in the academic coaching program for the College.

    Other Administrative Responsibilities: (10%)
    • Provide budgetary and grant administration support.
    • Provide support to faculty engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
    • Attend local, regional, and national meetings as a representative of the College.
    • Provide staff support to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
    • Other duties as assigned, based on the dynamic and changing needs of the College.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in education, educational research, or related field
    • One year experience in education support services
    • One year experience in educational assessment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree with an emphasis in education, higher education, educational research, or related field
    • Experience in higher education support services
    • Experience with healthcare education assessment
    • Experience with ACPE accreditation
