    The Institute for Technology Law & Policy at Georgetown Law is training the next generation of lawyers and lawmakers with deep expertise in technology law and policy. The Institute provides a uniquely valuable forum in Washington, DC for policymakers, academics and technologists to discuss the most pressing issues and opportunities in technology law today.

    The Institute Associate will work in the Institute for Technology Law and Policy under the supervision of Executive Director Alexandra Givens. The Institute Associate is responsible for conducting academic research, writing research papers and shorter opinion papers, helping to organize convenings and conferences, and otherwise assisting the operational and administrative functions of the Institute for Technology Law and Policy. Primary duties include but are not limited to:

    Work with the Executive Director, faculty members, and staff to conduct short-term advanced research projects, including legal and policy research on relevant to technology law and policy. Projects will involve legal and policy writing and presentations, as well as participation in related conferences and events.
    Support the Institute with the organization of externally and internally facing meetings of varying sizes. This will involve coordination of content and programs with participants and external partners, development of messaging, and overseeing planning and logistics coordinated by event management staff.
    Mentor Fellows and Student Research Assistants on research projects.

    The position is open to individuals with a United States law degree or master’s degree.
    Experience with technology law and/or policy and academic and working knowledge of research topics related to technology law and policy are required.
    Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience required.
    Excellent research and legal writing skills required.
    Ability to operate professionally and maturely in interactions with academic and other stakeholders required.
    Ability to work well as part of a small team and supervise student work in a professional manner also required.
