UNIVERSITY CONTROLLER
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: University Controller in the Office of Financial Services.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of supervisory experience in accounting and financial management.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA and Master’s degree.
Duties:
Maintain or enhance existing internal accounting controls and/or establish new internal accounting controls. Ensure these controls provide reliable annual audited financial statements, financial information and reporting to internal constituencies and external parties, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Provides financial oversight of the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF). Oversee accounting and finance operations, and ensure that all revenues are recorded, payments are processed, vendors are onboarded, and new endowments are managed. Provide financial reports to the CAF executive director and board. Lead process improvement efforts.
Provides supervision and training of staff to assure the provision of timely, accurate, verifiable financial transaction processing. Establish necessary financial policies and procedures. Train staff to ensure the reporting departments (student accounts, general accounting, payroll, capital assets, and grants and contracts) comply with the prescribed compliance checklists.
Identifies and facilitates changes to processes, controls, and systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial activities. Lead the Finance team in documenting the internal control system and maintain updated documentation on all financial processes (cash, A/R, A/P, grants, tax, payroll, student accounts, investments, capital assets, debt, etc.).
Provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including faculty, staff, students, venders, visitors and the community using positive communication skills and established protocols.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Director (UP03/61121563/FTE-S01028P), full-time position with benefits. Salary range: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to execute those principles. Advanced skills in excel and power point. Ability to work with integrated software systems. Candidates must possess uncommon integrity and have the ability to work with goodwill, and provide leadership to others. Must have a proven track record of developing and maintaining trusting, working relationships and building teams. Personal qualifications include well-developed communications skills and a high level of energy.
