Director of Marketing and communications
The Gupta College of Science (https://www.coastal.edu/science) at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for its Director of Marketing and Communications position. The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for working with the Dean’s Office to provide strategic direction and oversight for all digital and print initiatives of the college, which includes the creation and publication of all digital and print communication including all promotional/marketing materials. Digital communication will include web, social media, email and Microsoft Teams posts and updates. This position will also provide direct support, coordination, and supervision towards the creation and publishing of all print and digital materials including college and department graphics, calendars, flyers, banners, pictures (both print and electronic), and the production of the annual Progression publication. Other duties include providing oversight over the Gupta College of Science web presence making sure the website is updated and optimized; providing direct and indirect support to specialized web and digital media projects; and assisting with college-level projects that require specialized multimedia and production services. In this position, this person will model, promote, and ensure exceptional customer service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the community at large. Other projects and duties may also be assigned.
Successful candidates must have knowledge and experience with current web design, best practices, and principles. In addition, knowledge and experience with various social media platforms and how to use these platforms to disseminate information is expected. This person should also have knowledge and experience with a variety of communication platforms and digital software, including but not limited to, Microsoft Teams and Outlook, Adobe products including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with photography is also desirable. Successful candidates must be able to establish good rapport and provide accurate and timely responses to the public via print, social media, and web platforms. An ability to understand and maintain agency brands and accurate deployment of these brands in various marketing outputs is expected. Supervision of staff may also be required.
Required Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree and professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in marketing, advancement, and photography, or communication desirable.

Public Info Director I (BC30/61122220), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range: $47,588.00 (minimum) – $67,817.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
