Position Summary
Position
The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants at the rank of Associate Professor for two Dunavant Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management positions with research and teaching duties beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a nine-month tenure track appointment. Hiring is contingent on final budget approval. The Dunavant Associate Professors will teach primarily at the Memphis Campus, including online classes though teaching at off-campus sites may be required.
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include effective design and delivery of SCM courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, research leadership, and grant proposals. Duties include effective instruction in the MBA program and undergraduate SCM courses; evaluating student learning outcomes; participating in related Department services; and complying with all Department, College, and University regulations. Job duties include:
1. The Dunavant Associate Professor is expected to maintain an outstanding record of research and top-tier peer-reviewed publications, with a minimum publication record of at least one A-rated journal per year in a three-year evaluation window while targeting publications in preeminent journals. Participation in external grant applications, research workshops, seminars, presentations at high quality conferences and collaborating with research faculty to help make new discoveries.
2. Teaching four (4) SCM courses (12 credit hours) for the academic year and ensuring high rates of success in student learning outcomes.
3. Assisting with recruitment of SCM students, maintaining contact with the SCM-related professional groups and external organizations, along with maintaining AACSB scholarly academic credentials.
4. Service on Department, College, and University Committees.

Minimum Position Qualifications
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management or closely related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution with strong track record of publications, grants, and external support. Online teaching experience and professional engagement activities sufficient to qualify as Scholarly Academic under existing AACSB business accreditation guidelines are required. In addition to a strong academic background, candidates with industry experience in SCM are preferred.
