Job Summary
As a member of program team leadership, the Project Senior Manager will work to advance the goals and objectives of the Michigan Child Health Equity Collaborative (Mi-CHEC) and Michigan Community Hospitals Improving Equity for Children (Mi-CHIME), as well as oversee more junior project management staff for the Pediatric Sickle Cell Improvement Project (P-SCIP) and Program for Equity in Adolescent and Child Health (PEACH). The individual in this role will operate with minimal supervision and be expected to think critically, exercise independent judgement, and contribute significantly to the operations of these programs.
The Mi-CHEC and Mi-CHIME programs aim to improve the quality of care provided to all groups of children and the experiences of patients and families seeking and receiving care within health systems across Michigan. Responsibilities of the position require a detail-oriented and self-directed individual to oversee these child health improvement programs.

Responsibilities*
Manage and serve as single point of contact for multiple large, complex programs consisting of multiple projects requiring collaboration across internal and external stakeholders; Independently manage all projects from original concept through close-out.
Provide functional supervision and managerial responsibility for program administrative and research staff. Assist with hiring and annual performance reviews.
Substantially contribute to all facets of project planning, independently identifying plans of action and potential barriers, and problem-solving solutions.
Independently create and disseminate detailed work plans, schedules, project budgets, and progress reports. Independently track project deliverables of internal and external collaborating teams, ensuring all deadlines are met. Ensure integration of external team activities.
Conduct program/project meetings. Coordinate team communications and directly communicate with key stakeholders, collaborating performance sites, contractors, and funding agencies.
Create and manage multimillion-dollar project budgets. Independently identify courses of action to ensure appropriate spending.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Independently develop and manage IRB applications, Data Use Agreements, Legal agreements with other institutions (e.g., Business Associate Agreements).
Draft and/or assist in drafting sponsor-required reports, grant applications with supporting documentation, and manuscripts.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 4+ years experience in the management of complex projects or programs
Demonstrated ability to independently lead all project management processes from project planning to closeout
Proven ability to lead a team, build effective working relationships, and collaborate across multiple levels and types of key stakeholders
Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to set priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
Proven ability to independently take initiative, identify barriers and solve problems, adapt to changes quickly, make independent judgments, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Experience developing and managing study protocols and project workplans
Experience developing and managing large (multi-million dollar) grant budgets
Experience maintaining research regulatory requirements and human subjects protections including extensive knowledge and experience with IRB applications (new submissions, amendments, continuing reviews) and processes (includes confidentiality and compliance)
Excellent oral and written communication skills; timely and consistent communication and follow-through with leadership, the project team and stakeholders
Experience with external grant submissions and management
Experience supervising research personnel, mentoring junior project staff
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio), Adobe, and Google Applications.
Willingness and ability to work onsite at least 3.5 days/week
Underfill Requirements:
Bachelor degree and two to four years related experience.
Desired Qualifications*
Masters Degree in relevant field with 8+ years experience in the management of healthcare related projects or programs
Experience developing and managing cost share budgets
Training in human subjects research rights and responsibilities
Background, experience, or education in pediatric health services research
