JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University's Account Services Team is looking for an Associate Director of Accounting Services to fulfill the following duties:
Performs managerial and expert level professional duties in general ledger accounting including:
Financial Reporting
Capital Asset Accounting
Accounts Receivable
Cash Management
Reconciliations
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Financial Management
Ensures accurate reporting of financial transactions in the general ledger. Establishes, maintains, and serves as the administrator of the University's extensive chart of accounts and reporting trees. Directs the monthly and fiscal year end close processes. Prepares and processes general ledger adjustments, as necessary. Provides training, guidance, and direction in financial and systems responsibilities.
35% - Essential - Financial Reporting
Verifies conformance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements of federal, state, and other agencies. Assists in completion of the FISAP report, specifically the section(s) related to Perkins loans. Compiles federal financial reporting for Animal Health, Hatch, Hatch multi-State, McIntire-Stennis and Smith-Lever programs. Prepares University-level analysis and reports for the University's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Manages the annual audit of the University's financial statements.
15% - Essential - Account Reconciliations
Reconciles various balance sheet accounts to subsystems and third-party balances. Reviews and approves account reconciliations prepared by Accounting Services staff. Reconciles and records Perkins loans transactions. Reviews and approves University and state cash transfers.
10% - Essential - Team Management
Serves as director of the Accounting Services department. Leads eight accounting professionals and indirectly leads two additional individuals. Prepares annual evaluations of direct reports and reviews annual evaluations of indirect reports, in compliance with University policy.
10% - Essential - Graduate Assistant Differential Charges and Internal Loans
Coordinates the recording process and any reclassifications for Graduate Assistant Differential charges in collaboration with the Graduate School. Coordinates the University's internal loan program, including obtaining approvals, managing loans in DebtBook, and recording loan payments.
