    Essential Functions
    Job Summary

    The Enterprise Cloud Solutions Engineer works under limited supervision, responsible for cloud service administration, troubleshooting, and consulting, developing cloud-focused solutions utilizing platform best practices. This role actively monitors enhancements, new service offerings, and licensing changes in the cloud service environment. Performs indirect supervision for assigned staff.

    Core Responsibilities

    Plans and designs implementation of new cloud technologies, and applications. Documents processes, and procedures, and proposes improvements.
    Provides administrative management and technical support for cloud service platform.
    Serves as cloud service technical escalation point for Tier 2 support, leading incident recoveries; may organize the efforts of other analysts and/or support teams as part of incident recovery; leads root cause analysis efforts.
    Performs maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of the UTSA identity management infrastructure to include workflow development, Identity management application support and Identity management application development.
    Meets with customers to provide consultation on cloud service solutions for business needs to staff, faculty, and management.
    Consults with vendors, faculty, staff, and management concerning projected enhancements to cloud services and network capabilities.
    Works with support staff to utilize and/or develop reports, metrics, and procedures to optimize cloud service performance, utilization, and service adoption.
    Monitors changes to cloud service offerings and tests new technologies before general release to the campus community.
    Ensures appropriate cloud service licensing.
    Complies with all State and university policies.
    Maintains on-call emergency support evenings and weekends (rotational).
    Performs other duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university within the area of assigned responsibility.
    Technical training and/or experience may be substituted for a degree on a year-for-year basis.
    Valid Texas Driver's License or ability to obtain one by the first day of work.
    Four (4) years of experience with server operating system administration (Microsoft Windows or LINUX).
    Three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration and/or functional experience.
    Three (3) years of operational experience in one or more related core infrastructure technologies (Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business).
    This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.
    Knowledge Skills & Abilities

    Understanding of identity management concepts and related directories and databases (LDAP, Active Directory, Shibboleth).
    Ability to program system support tasks in Power Shell (preferred), Python, Ruby, Perl, batch/shell, or other general-purpose programming language.
    Basic understanding of Java application servers and/or XML.
    Ability to recognize when to escalate a procedural issue.
    Knowledgeable in developing documentation, providing customer support, and training users.
    Ability to proactively learn, adapt to, and use new hardware/software technologies.
    Ability to organize, manage time effectively, deliver tasks on time, manage rapidly changing priorities, and manage multiple efforts.
    Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
    Well-developed customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships.
    Ability to stay abreast of new and emerging technology solutions by participating in technical training and technology briefings/ webinars, including self-paced and other staff development activities.
    Ability to collaborate in a broad team environment.
    Excellent verbal and written communication.
    Highly proficient using Microsoft Office.

    Working Environment:

    Office and data processing environment.
    Servers, hardware, and standard office equipment.
    Occasional exposure to extreme cold and risk of electrical shock.
    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    Frequent evening and weekend work.
    Occasional travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or multiple university-owned campuses and leased spaces.
    Required to be on stand-by call status, carrying a pager, cell phone, or two-way radio as assigned and responding to after-hours emergency calls.
    Required to be on stand-by call status for overtime, evenings, after hours, odd hours, shift work, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. Flexibility in scheduling may be required.
    Physical Demands:

    Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    Ability to push, pull, or lift to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
