THE UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT, Grossman School of Business (www.uvm.edu/business) invites applications for the Elizabeth and David Daigle Professorship in Finance. This hire will be made at the Associate Professor level and will commence in the fall of 2026. The successful candidate will possess a doctorate degree from a nationally or internationally recognized program in finance or economics. Current Associate Professors preferred. The ideal candidate will have an established record that includes high-quality publications, be able to demonstrate a continuing commitment to a coherent research agenda, have a record that demonstrates potential for excellence in the classroom, and be committed to continued excellence in UVM’s undergraduate and graduate programs. There is no specific teaching background required, but candidates should be able to teach introductory finance, and electives in a related area such as investments, corporate finance, international finance/economics, financial institutions and markets, or financial modeling. Candidates with professional experience or professional credentials such as a CFA are encouraged to apply. The position offers an AACSB competitive salary, excellent benefits, funds for research, travel and summer support. We are particularly interested in candidates who will be capable of interacting productively with our extensive network of successful alums who have positions of responsibility in finance and other areas of business, and who are actively involved in enhancing our programs at the undergraduate and graduate level.
About the School
The AACSB-accredited Grossman School of Business cultivates and supports 35 full-time faculty dedicated to education, research and management practice and is home to approximately 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students. UVM’s Master of Accountancy Program hosts about 30 students and has ranked in the top 10% for CPA Pass Rate of US institutions with 10 or more candidates for eight consecutive years. Sustainable business is a strategic theme in the undergraduate program and fully integrated in the school’s Sustainable Innovation MBA program, which has been ranked the #1 “Best Green MBA” by Princeton Review for several years.
