Job Description:
NUARI is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cybersecurity Instructor and Course Developer to design and deliver high-quality training programs for adult learners.
This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, current technologies, and best practices, as well as a passion for teaching and the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible, practical learning experiences.
The ideal candidate will possess both instructional and technical expertise, with the ability to develop course materials aligned with industry standards and deliver engaging, hands-on training both in person and virtually. This role includes regular travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and update cybersecurity training curricula, labs, and instructional materials tailored for adult learners.
Deliver instructor-led training (ILT) both in-person and online across a variety of cybersecurity topics (e.g., information security basics, the Internet of Things, Industrial Controls Systems security, risk management and assessment, incident response, incorporating cyber into all-hazard exercises, and maritime).
Align training materials with established frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, etc.).
Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure course relevance and accuracy.
Support course certification and/or accreditation processes.
Travel to training locations across the U.S. and its territories as needed (up to 50% of effort).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; however equivalent experience considered.
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles and/or in cybersecurity instruction/training.
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training content for adult learners.
Professional cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SANS, CISA, GIAC, etc.).
Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and virtual learning environments.
Prior experience instructing for government or workforce development programs.
