Job Summary/Basic Function:
Monitor and supervise the staff, systems and operations of a financials office. Assist with strategic financial planning, leading to insightful, accurate business decision-making. Proactively reach out to customers including students, employees, campus users and connect them to campus resources.
This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.
This position has the opportunity for hybrid and/or flexible scheduling after a six-month training period.
Essential Functions:
Oversees daily banking activities including acting as primary approver on daily cash positioning, fraud reporting and outbound payments. Acts as liaison between the University and the bank for file transfer inquiries.
Executes initiatives related to cash management and ecommerce. Coordinates the development and implementation of policies and procedures to progress the overall goals of the department.
Routinely makes decisions regarding proper processing, booking and reporting of transactions related to treasury operations.
Assists with reporting on the University debt portfolio including new bond issues, compiling data for rating agency inquiries and completing annual disclosures. Manages all debt compliance related activities including private use and arbitrage.
Participates as an active member of the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance Committee.
Reviews, analyzes and reports on Central Bank activities and budget. Assists with accounting for capital projects.
Manages, analyzes and reports on University lease transactions. Includes monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Maintains DebtBook lease accounting software, associated reporting and journal entries.
Assist with leasing, acquisition and disposition of real estate.
As a key member of the Treasury and Real Estate team, this position will be asked to use their skills on special projects related to any assignment within the departments.
Supervise staff who work with, may include, payments, bankruptcy, budget, and finance systems.
Ensure staff and vendors abide by the relevant best practices and law.
Monitor systems and operations to identify indicators of financial stress.
Develop and maintain accounting systems and handle difficult or sensitive financial matters.
Manage department funds, liaison with other campus departments on finance, or human capital processes and controls, requests or issues. Enforce policies and compliance and work through challenging situations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of best practices and laws regarding collections.
Experience with technology systems and managing bulk processes through technology and systems.
Knowledge or supervisory practices.

Ability to lead a team of professional staff, serve as an internal resource and consultant, and work collaboratively with all employees and key business partners.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years relevant experience including 1 year of managerial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with coaching, leading and developing employees.
Experience with banking and financial systems.
Experience with accounting software systems.
Experience with lease management systems.
Experience in applying and writing policies and procedures.
Professional experience related to lease accounting, financial analysis and real estate management and compliance.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary starting at $80,828.80 annually and is commensurate with experience. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):
