JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health Professions, the Communications Manager 1 manages the communications and marketing work direction of departmental communications coordinators and serves as a liaison between the college and the university Office of Communication and Marketing. This position creates and builds awareness and knowledge of the new College of Health Professions’ programs and achievements while building and expanding awareness and knowledge of existing programs, achievements, and events. Responsibilities
Manages the communications and marketing work of departmental communications coordinators and serves as a liaison between the college and the university Office of Communication and Marketing.
Oversees, creates, designs, and maintains the College of Health Professions and departmental web pages to market and publicize strategic information to all stakeholders.
Manages, approves, and coordinates all updates and improvements to the college sites among the other various campuses of UT’s College of Health Professions related departments (Knoxville and Memphis).
Creates, drafts, and edits internal and external communications in a variety of formats; creates and submits entry packets for awards and competitions that highlight and champion the College of Health Professions’ brand in the public sphere.
Partners with the web development team in the Office of Communications and Marketing to implement UT Health Science Center web branding guidelines across the College of Health Professions website, staying current on new standards as they are developed.
Manages and directs departmental coordinators to ensure standardization and compliance with UT branding and policy.
Creates, plans, and develops communication and marketing strategies with the Dean, administrators, department chairs, and program directors to best promote the College of Health Professions and individual departments.
Provides administrative oversight for the UT Health Science Center College of Health Professions social accounts: Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of marketing experience; OR Master’s Degree and two (2) years of marketing experience.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.
