    Oversees operations and provides leadership in the areas of enrollment management, including Admissions, Registration, Penguin Service Center, and Financial Aid. Supervises staff and implementation and administration of all programs and/or services, typically assumes responsibility and supervision of one or more functional departments. Provides strategic vision, comprehensive leadership, effective planning, enrollment and admissions related program development, budget oversight, data analysis, and institutional coordination for strategic enrollment management. Interprets and develops regulations, policies, etc. for the guidance of other employees or the public. Supervision from above the associate vice president-level classification may be received in the form of memos, staff conferences, or other periodic communications.? May serve as designee of supervisor (e.g., Vice President, Provost, etc.) as needed and as assigned.

    Position Information
    Essential Functions and Responsibilities: In conjunction with the executive leadership team, sets the overall direction and strategy of the university, makes major strategic decisions, evaluates the success of the university in reaching its goals.



    Oversees the complete operation of an assigned unit, or set of units, in accordance with the direction established in the strategic plan. Evaluates the work of other administrators within the scope of the assigned unit or set of units.



    Works with faculty, administration, and marketing to improve the student experience and boost retention.



    Maintains awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for growth, industry developments, and standards.



    Provides strategic direction to departments including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Penguin Service Center.



    Provides leadership and gives direction for the development and implementation of unit policies and procedures and coordination of assigned areas or department’s processes. Supervises staff; assigns and reviews work; establishes timeframes for the completion of assigned tasks; trains and orients new employees; approves/disapproves requests for paid leave; interviews candidates for employment and makes recommendations for hire; evaluates employee work performance; receives and responds to grievances; aids with the development of unit work procedures and policies.



    Assists supervisor in long-term, strategic planning. Reviews recommendations by lower-level staff regarding the assigned area’s policies and procedures as it relates to completion of work and/or provision of services; communicates to supervisor suggestions/recommendations regarding the assigned areas or department’s policies and procedures as it relates to completion of work and/or provision of services.



    Prepares or assists in the preparation of the budget for the assigned area/department. Oversees administration of the budget; monitors department spending to ensure that expenditures do not exceed budgetary limitations; approves operating expenses.



    Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of the assigned area’s/department’s overall goals and objectives.



    Uses analytics, predictive modeling, and market research to optimize student recruitment and aid allocation. Gathers data and presents reports and other information/documentation related to enrollment and retention.



    Prepares for and attends events.



    Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties and all staff in the assigned area / department; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, conferences, and other events.
