Position Responsibilities:
60% Research Design, Experimental Execution, and Technical Leadership:
Independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize molecular and cell biology experiments related to ongoing research initiatives. Apply advanced technical knowledge in mammalian cell culture, genetics, and molecular biology techniques to support research objectives. Develop and refine laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Interpret technical challenges and implement creative solutions to ensure project success. Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.
20% Data Analysis and Research Interpretation:
Analyze and interpret complex experimental datasets using appropriate analytical tools and methodologies. Summarize findings, identify trends, and contribute to scientific interpretation and future experimental planning. Maintain accurate and detailed research documentation and data records.
10% Technical Writing, Reporting, and Presentation:
Prepare technical summaries, reports, protocols, and research presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to manuscripts, grant-related activities, and scientific communications as appropriate.
10% Project Coordination and Mentorship:
Provide technical guidance and training to students, trainees, and junior laboratory staff. Assist with coordinating laboratory workflows, prioritizing research activities, and supporting collaborative research efforts across projects.
Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree plus at least four years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least eight years.
Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and genetics/cell biology techniques.
Experience independently designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing experimental protocols.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex experimental data and contribute to research strategy.
Experience utilizing advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques such as PCR, gene expression analysis, transfection, sequencing, western blotting, microscopy, or related methods.
Experience in carrying out laboratory procedures under GMP conditions is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple research projects and timelines with minimal supervision.
Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to students, trainees, or junior staff preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing technical reports, presentations, and research documentation.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $50,000 - $58,000/year depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
