  • Major/Essential Functions

    In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

    As a faculty member in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, you will be expected to:
    Maintain an active, externally funded research program focused on K-16 Mathematics Education
    Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets
    Teach graduate level courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise
    Advise and mentor students, including but not limited to doctoral students pursuing dissertation research
    Contribute to collaborative initiatives within the College of Education and across the university
    Engage in outreach and policy communication activities to ensure research informs state and national workforce priorities

    Faculty Qualifications

    A Ph.D. in Mathematics Education or Curriculum & Instruction with a Mathematics Education emphasis conferred by an accredited university by August 31, 2027.
    Three or more years of full-time mathematics teaching in the K-12 classroom and/or undergraduate mathematics or in mathematics education.
    Evidence of an emerging research agenda and scholarly contributions in Mathematics Education including recent (within the past four years) peer-reviewed journal publications.

    Preferred Qualifications

    In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
    Earned doctorate from an AAU institution;
    One or more years working with and/or facilitating STEM outreach;
    Evidence of a clear research agenda (refereed presentations and publications in research-focused venues) in content-specific, psychological K-16 Mathematics Education and/or applications of AI in Mathematics Education;
    Evidence in developing and/or participating in research practice partnerships, collaborative research, and/or engaged scholarship with teachers, school districts, non-profits, government agencies, and/or community/professional organizations;
    Evidence of participation in practitioner-focused professional development and/or teaching professional organizations at local, state, national and/or international levels;
    Demonstrated experience in mentoring or a record of advising graduate students and serving on quantitative-focused doctoral dissertation and/or master’s thesis committees;
    Demonstrated experience of teaching online;
    Demonstrated experience of teaching graduate-level STEM education and/or mathematics education courses at the post-secondary level;
    Demonstrated experience with grant activities, either applying, receiving, and/or working off grant funding.
