Educators take steps to ward off swine flu spread

Schools across Galveston County are stepping up education and sanitation efforts in hopes to stave off a repeat of swine flu outbreaks that interrupted classes across the nation last year.

The schools’ prevention efforts come at the same time as a President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology report that estimated that swine flu, also known as H1N1, could infect half the U.S. population this fall and winter.
