UNC college students set up 9/11 display at University Center

The small hillside covered in thousands of miniature American flags on Friday caught the eye of Jordan Smothermon, a freshman at the University of Northern Colorado. She stopped and snapped photos of the display, which fluttered in the afternoon breeze.

Friday marked the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon and the airplane that crashed in rural Pennsylvania.
