Great road bike for someone wanting to get back to riding without spending too much money. That's what I did with this a few years ago.
Especially good for a large (5'11" - 6'3") and heavier rider. Practically bomb proof steel frame (circa 1991) and anodized Sun Mistral 36 hole rims on 105 hubs. Older Shimano 105 brakes, 53-39 cranks (175mm I think,) and pedals, front derailleur, Upgraded Shimano 600 rear derailleur, Upgraded from downtube shifters to 8-sp 105 STI shifters/brake levers, new shift cables, new Sram chain, currently running 13-21 7-sp cassette with these rims (they are 7-sp only,) new Vittoria Rubino tires, wired Cateye computer, gel seat. This will be a great setup to get riding on the Silver Comet Trail. Will sell in this configuration for $350.
Will change it to a set of Bontager Race Wheels with new Vittoria Zaffiro tires and 8-sp 11-28 wide range Sram cassette. These wheels will support 8 to 10 speed cassettes. This setup is better for riding on some hills. Will sell it in this configuration for $400.
If you want both sets of wheels we can talk but it's not a simple swap because the rear derailleur limit stops need adjusted to go back and forth from 7 to 8 speed.
