We will cover most of Chapters 1-8. Some supplements on Stirling's formula for factorials and gamma-beta distributions are provided in the readings section.



Assignments and Exams


There will be no final exam. During the term there will be three exams, equally spaced during the course. Late problem sets will be accepted at 10% off per school day, e.g. if due Friday, then 10% off on Monday, 30% on Wednesday; 50% off after solutions are given out. Problem sets turned in late may be returned much later than others.
