Errors in Practice problems solutions:

  • Problem 6: the response actually starts at 2, not at 0. So the P.O. is approximately (3.5-3)/(3-2) = 50%. The 5% settling time refers to 5% of 1, not 5% of 3.
  • State Space Problem: in the block diagram, I left out a line from u to y.
  • State Space Problem: I dropped a minus sign in calculating Phi(t). The top left element is actually -2e^(-3t) + 3e^(-2t).
