The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department is an internationally recognized center for research in biochemistry and molecular biology, organized in three focus areas: Structural and Computational Biology, Genes and Signaling, and Plant Biochemistry.
Our research investigators employ multidisciplinary methods ranging from computer modeling to genomic analysis in a variety of systems -- from microbial to human.
Molecular analysis of proteins and other macromolecules is facilitated by state-of-the-art centers for advanced mass spectrometry, NMR and X-ray crystallography.
A new Genomics Facility assists investigators using high-throughput sequencing and gene chip technology.
