Obama's day: Education, diplomacy, outreach

President Obama honors education, engages in Middle East diplomacy, and continues his outreach to the Senate throughout the day Tuesday.

This afternoon, Obama honors the 2013 National Teacher of the Year: Jeff Charbonneau, a high school chemistry, physics and engineering teacher from Washington state.

The finalists for the award will also attend the ceremony, as Obama thanks the teachers "for their hard work and dedication each and every day in the classroom," says the White House schedule.
