As I follow the ongoing coverage of standardized-test scandals in our nation’s schools, I am struck by those covering and opining about these situations demonstrating not the least bit of understanding about the root causes of this trend.

Don’t misunderstand, I believe the cheating by educational professionals is unacceptable behavior.
