N.J. lawmakers would put squeeze on higher ed

The New Jersey Legislature's version of the new state budget gets tough on colleges and universities, along with cities and towns that apply for special aid.


The appropriations bill for fiscal year 2010 would establish 3 percent caps on tuition and fee hikes levied by state colleges and universities.
