Pa. state university tuition going up 3.7 percent

The more than 112,000 students at Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities will see a 3.7 percent tuition increase this fall.

The board of governors of the State System of Higher Education on Thursday voted unanimously to increase tuition for a resident undergraduate student by $196 to $5,554 for the 2009-10 school year. Nonresidents will pay a maximum of $13,886, reflecting the same percentage increase.
