ISU hit hardest in higher ed cuts

The governor accepted recommendations late Tuesday afternoon for budget cuts at state universities. They could mean program cuts, they could mean pay freezes, but the higher education commissioner said they won't lead to tuition hikes.
On a percentage basis, the cuts range from 3.5 percent at Ivy Tech to 6.6 percent at Indiana State University.
In pure dollars, Indiana University gets slashed the most: $59 million. At Purdue, the cut is $45 million, $15 million at Ball State.
