Rutgers sorority hazing: School should take strong action against Sigma Gamma Rho

Hazing on college campuses is illegal in New Jersey and most other states. And for good reason. The practice of making potential members of fraternities, sororities and other groups engage in dangerous and demeaning activities has a history of ending badly.

In 2007, an 18-year-old freshman at Rider University died after a binge-drinking initiation at a Phi Kappa Tau fraternity party. And seven students at New England College in New Hampshire were severely burned in 2008 in a fraternity hazing....
