Public service announcements aimed at shaming college students out of binge drinking may only send them back to the bottle.

A significant new study that found PSAs that strongly associate binge drinking with shame and guilt may only foster resistance to the message, AdAge reports.

The five-part study from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management surveyed 1,200 undergraduate students, showing them anti-alcohol ads that relied heavily on the self-disgust associated with binge drinking....
