The search is over: University of Iowa Provost Wallace D. Loh will take the helm as president of this university November 1, university system officials said last night.

At the end of the month, President Dan Mote will retire from a decade-long tenure at this university, leaving Provost Nariman Farvardin to serve as interim president until Loh arrives, according to statement released today.

The sudden announcement of Loh as the new university president came just a week after search committee....
