Panel asks officials about failed education grant

The Assembly Appropriations Committee is examining a mistake that may have cost New Jersey $400 million in federal education grant funds.

The committee wants to hear from members of Gov. Chris Christie's administration on the error that cost schools chief Bret Schundler his job.

Committee members say they have questions for administration officials involved in the application process and events. Schundler, who has declined to testify, sent a statement instead.
