Taft College baseball finds success in tournament

Freshman infielder Michael Hayes’ three-run homer provided the margin of victory Wednesday as Taft College defeated No. 4 ranked San Joaquin Delta College 8-5 to finish 2-1 in the Delta spring break tournament.

The Cougars opened the tournament Monday with a 13-6 win over Los Medanos, then suffered an 11-2 loss to Delta on Tuesday.

The win over Delta (20-10) gives the No. 17 Cougars (20-13) a boost as they jump back into Central Valley Conference action next Tuesday by....
