University of Florida endowment on the rise

The University of Florida's endowment increased 9.3 percent in the last fiscal year, but still hasn't rebounded to the level it reached before the economic meltdown.

A study released recently by the National Association of College and University Business Officers ranked UF 55th among North American universities with an endowment of $1.1 billion in the 2010 fiscal year.

University endowments saw an average growth of 8.4 percent in the 2010 fiscal year as compared to 2009.
