OSU student to plead guilty to bomb threat that disrupted campus

An Ohio State University student is expected to plead guilty today in U.S. District Court in Columbus to reporting a false bomb threat that disrupted the OSU campus in November.

Jonathan M. Birkemeyer, 24, of Xenia has agreed to the plea as part of an agreement with the U.S. attorney's office.

He was charged in May with sending an email to the FBI in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 16, claiming that nine bombs had been placed in four OSU buildings and were to be triggered at 9 a.m. that day.
