University of Connecticut President Susan Herbst began her remarks to Hartford business leaders Tuesday morning by asking whether there was anyone in the room with a degree from Boston College.

"I'd like to have a word with you,'' Herbst said to the crowd — joking, of course — about the old, ugly feud that has exploded again over BC's apparent efforts to block UConn's admission into the Atlantic Coast Conference.
