School board member lobbies for special education funding

School Board Vice Chairman Horace Murphy Jr. will stress the need for special education funding Tuesday when he meets with lawmakers in Washington D.C.

Murphy is in the midst of his sixth trip to D.C. for the Federal Relations Network Conference, a lobbying event sponsored by the National School Boards Association that brings school board members from across the country to garner support for challenges facing their districts.
