University of Wyoming plans more than $15M in cuts

The University of Wyoming on Tuesday unveiled plans for $15.7 million in budget cuts starting next summer that would eliminate 80 to 125 jobs, reduce course offerings, and slash scholarship funding.

The proposed cuts come in response to Gov. Matt Mead’s directive last month ordering almost all state agencies to draw up 8-percent budget cuts for the next fiscal year, which starts July 2013.
