Steve Smith was chosen Tuesday as the Big 12's Coach of the Year in a vote of league coaches after leading Baylor (42-12, 20-4) to a record 18-game winning streak during conference play and the regular-season title.

Baylor catcher Josh Ludy (.347, nine home runs, 54 RBIs) was named Player of the Year, and Bears designated hitter Nathan Orf (.310) is the Newcomer of the Year.
