News organizations sue University of Wyoming over presidential search records

Three news organizations sued the University of Wyoming on Monday seeking the names of the finalists to replace Tom Buchanan as president.

The suit claims the university has no legal standing to keep the finalists’ identifies from the public. It asks a judge to order the release of the names once the school has narrowed its search to a final round of candidates.

A lawyer representing the Casper Star-Tribune, Wyoming Tribune-Eagle and The Associated Press filed the lawsuit in Albany County District....
