Faith schools to offer sex education

Faith schools will be allowed to give sex education lessons that are line with their religious beliefs under new plans to make the subject compulsory in primary and secondary schools.

It will mean that children at Catholic schools could be taught that their religion frowns on the use of contraceptives at the same time as learning about condoms.

The report recommends making current personal, social and health education (PSHE) a mandatory part of the curriculum in primary and secondary schools....
