Rowan-Cabarrus Community College inaugurates president

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College inaugurated Carol Spalding as its third president Friday during a ceremony at the N.C. Research Campus in Kannapolis.

She replaces Richard Brownell, who retired May 31 after serving as president for more than 30 years.

Spalding joined the community college last August from the Florida Community College at Jacksonville. She had held several leadership positions there, including a stint as president, since 1988.
