WHITTIER - A strong east breeze knocked down the dry erase scoreboard perched atop the Rio Hondo College baseball dugout in the second inning of Tuesday's CCCAA Southern Regional single-elimination playoff game pitting the Roadrunners and visiting Citrus.

While the wind was to blame for that pummeling, the Owls' bats knocked the air out of Rio Hondo as Citrus, the Western State South Conference runner-up, cranked out four homers and 11 total extra-base hits in demolishing the Roadrunners, 21-8.
