More than 160,000 people tied to UC Berkeley computers now at risk

Hackers breached a computer database used by UC Berkeley and Mills College, exposing tens of thousands of students and employees to possible identity theft, the university announced at the end of last week.

Specifically, 97,000 Social Security numbers, non-treatment medical information, and health insurance information was accessed according to UC Berkeley school officials. The medical information access includes names of doctors students visited, when they went to the doctor, and future appointment....
